Training programmes and scholarships

Together with international scientists, SCP organises workshops in wildlife management for field assistants and Siberut National Park staff. In order to support talented pupils of Mentawai, where only basic education is provided at school, SCP offers opportunities for higher education at the University of Bogor.

Technology transfer

Being a joint initiative between DPZ and IPB, transfer of conservation related technologies and expertise between Western Europe and Indonesia is an integral part of SCP´s aims. In this way we are helping our Indonesian partners to improve their capacity in applied wildlife management.

Negotiation and Lobbying

SCP continues to actively lobby decision makers at both institutional and political levels in order to promote a wider acceptance of a sustainable approach to resource utilization for the Mentawai region as a whole. At the same time collaboration with a number of smaller NGO´s helps gain more local support for our conservation efforts.
